Looking for something to read? If you like Crichton, reach for something else.
The technology is a bit dated, the language is a bit strong, and the plot gets a little too racy, but the cultural insights and basic view of human nature are interesting. The author's view of racism (written during the rise of the PC movement) is refreshing. I wonder if he would have written the same in this day and age of Thought Crime.
